<br />
Tidak
lama kemudian, melalui akun Twitternya @R_Besar, Ariel seperti
menggambarkan kehebohan yang sedang terjadi akibat foto yang beredar.
"Hanya seorang teman yg ingin membuat iri teman-temannya," kata Ariel
lewat <i>twit</i> di akunnya beberapa hari lalu.<br />
<br />
Mantan vokalis
"Masalah persepsi,
dikembalikan ke masing-masing individu. Persis seperti sekumpulan orang
yang sedang melihat gumpalan awan," tulisnya.<br />
<br />
Ariel mengumpamakan
setiap orang boleh memiliki persepsinya masing-masing. Sama ketika

Jumat (10/5/2013). Fatin yang menyanyikan lagu everything at once milik
penyanyi Australia Lenka malah tidak tampil sempurna.<br />
Saat
menyanyikan lagu tersebut Fatin lupa sebagian liriknya. Bahkan di akhir
penampilannya Fatin sempat menangis. Momen Fatin menangis sontak membuat
penonton menyoraki Fatin. Melihat anak didiknya sedang tertekan Rossa
langsung naik pangung dan menenangkan Fatin.<br />
Membuka sesi komentar
pertama kali, Ahmad DHani mencoba membesarkan Fatin. “Saya nyanyi 59
kali itu biasa enggak nangis, jadi santai saja” ujar Dhani.<br />
Demikian
“Fatin
malam in ikita bersenang-senang tapi Ingat Fatin ini bukan idola cilik
jadi kamu jangan down kamu harus tetap bersungguh-sungguh,” nasehat
Bebi.<br />
Show must go on”<br />
Juri
mentor Fatin, Rossa menganggap lagu everything at once milik Lenka ini
memang sulit dianyanyikan orang lain kecuali pemilik lagu itu sendiri.<br />
“Mungkin
semakin orang menyukai kita maka tanggung jawab kita semakin besar.”
Jelas Rossa.<br />

tua.

Misalnya memasakkan
makanan kesukaan si dia.<br />
<strong>Jangan bahas umur</strong>Jangan pernah membahas jarak
usia antara Anda dan pasangan. Ingat, sejak awal Anda sudah setuju untuk
berkencan.
<strong>Menikmati obrolan</strong>Banyak wanita muda tertarik
<strong>Menunjukkan kemampuan</strong>Wanita sebaiknya pandai
memasak.
menjadi diri sendiri. Tidak perlu bersikap sok dewasa karena pasangan
sejati pasti mau menerima Anda apa adanya.<br />

SLASH Biography
(Updated July 2009)
SLASH was born in Hampstead (London), England on July 23, 1965, and he was raised in Stoke-On-Trent, Staffordshire, England. His given name is Saul Hudson. His mother was a Black American, and his father is a white Englishman. Both artistic parents worked in the entertainment field. His mother was a clothing designer for entertainers. She designed some of David Bowie's unforgettable costumes. His father provides art direction for record albums. Two notable clients are Neil Young and Joni Mitchell. On Friday, June 5, 2009, SLASH's mother Ola Hudson died of lung cancer in Los Angeles.
At age 11 SLASH moved to Los Angeles with his mother while his father remained based in England. Born in the UK, SLASH was an immigrant in the United States and was to remain one for many years. <br />
<a name='more'></a>The family eventually lived together again in L.A. where SLASH had a rough transition to conservative Southern California. The long hair, jeans and t-shirts that he wore even then didn't exactly fit with the other kids. An outsider at school, he lived a bohemian life at home. Surrounded by artistic friends of his parents, SLASH grew accustomed to the moods and eccentricities of those in the music world. Frequent visitors at the Hudson household included Joni Mitchell, David Geffen, David Bowie, Ron Wood and Iggy Pop. SLASH has said that these surroundings prepared him for coping with the stress of the music industry, the conflict between artistry and business.
In the mid-1970's, his parents separated. SLASH moved in with his beloved grandmother until he could sort out the situation at home. About this time SLASH discovered BMX (bicycle motorcrossing), joined up with a group of kids, and rode with a passion. It's not surprising to hear that SLASH would ride without brakes! SLASH eventually became a professional BMX biker winning awards and money for his great riding.
While in junior high school (age 15), SLASH's grandmother gave him his first guitar. Although it had just one string, SLASH was able to learn to play. SLASH's early musical influences were Led Zep, Eric Clapton, the Rolling Stones, Aerosmith,Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Neil Young. He credits the Aerosmith album ROCKS with changing his life. Getting to play with the musical idols of his life means a lot to him. Standing on a stage in Paris with Jeff Beck and Joe Perry was overwhelming. SLASH also has gotten to play with guitarist "god" Eric Clapton. He has played with many other artists including Lenny Kravitz, Paul Rogers, Iggy Pop, Michael Jackson, Brian May to name just a few.
Soon the bike was put aside. SLASH devoted at least 12 hours a day to playing guitar. His schoolwork suffered when he skipped classes and sat in the bleachers all day playing guitar. School may have suffered, but his social life got better! The other kids now thought SLASH was cool, and he was no longer a social outcast. SLASH joined band after band jamming with other young musicians. Eventually, SLASH gave up on school and dropped out in eleventh grade. Another education was waiting for him in the L.A. band scene. SLASH met Steven Adler, formed the band Road Crew, and was looking for a good singer. Then he met Izzy Stradlin who played him a tape of W. Axl Rose singing. SLASH went to see Axl perform and immediately wanted to steal him from Izzy, but the two Indiana natives were fast friends. SLASH found his bass player in Duff McKagan when Duff answered an ad SLASH had placed in the paper. All the players changed combinations, but the result was Guns N'Roses! With a lot of talent and a lot of drive, the band became an international success story.
After the Illusions tours, Guns N'Roses went on a well-deserved hiatus, and SLASH became a U.S citizen. He decided that immigration hassles, lost green cards, etc. were just too timeconsuming for his lifestyle. So SLASH became a citizen of the United States. Welcome, SLASH! About this time, SLASH became restless and decided to form a new band as a side project to his GNR work which seemed to be taking forever to get started. Matt Sorum, Gilby Clarke, Mike Inez, Eric Dover, and SLASH formed SLASH's Snakepit and recorded the album IT'S FIVE O'CLOCK SOMEWHERE. Never content to stay home and smell the roses, SLASH went on the road with his touring band: Gilby Clarke, Brian Tichy, James Lomenso, Eric Dover. Playing to small venues, SLASH was able to get back to playing in clubs and being toe-to-toe with the audience. IT'S FIVE O'CLOCK SOMEWHERE went platinum worldwide, and SLASH promised that Snakepit would be back again.
In the summer of 1996, SLASH was invited to play at a blues concert in Budapest, Hungary. He got together some musicians and headed for Europe. From this beginning came a terrific band called SLASH's Blues Ball. And though this band never recorded an album, it was in big demand by promoters and fans.
While this was going on, SLASH was waiting for Axl Rose to get Guns N'Roses together. SLASH and Axl had talks about the musical direction of the band. SLASH saw GNR as a rock band while Axl Rose wanted to go in a more techno/industrial direction with GNR. After many, many meetings and heated discussions, SLASH resigned from GNR in October 1996 with Rose retaining the rights to the band name. SLASH didn't sit at home with his head in his hands. He got busy with Blues Ball! Blues Ball played blues covers, so they could start playing gigs right away. Throughout the end of 1996 till the fall of 1997, SLASH's Blues Ball played at clubs throughout California, into the southwest and the northeast. Blues Ball has rolled away for the time being but may play some one-offs. You just never know with SLASH!
When SLASH left Guns N'Roses, his many fans wondered what he might be going do with all that talent and personality. The media were wondering, too. At first, there was speculation that the Axl - SLASH rift would be of short duration and a reconciliation was inevitable. SLASH had been quoted as saying that when Axl Rose was ready to make a rock and roll album, he would be back. As Rose filled GNR with hired guns and unknowns, SLASH made it clear that Snakepit will be his permanent band. He says he could do a one off or a short tour with the original band, but he would never walk on stage with a band pretending to be the Guns N'Roses band.
As promised, SLASH brought back Snakepit! He had 300 demo tapes from musicians who wanted to be in his band. He settled on drummer Matt Laug (formerly with Venice) and bassist Johnny Griparic (formerly with SLASH's Blues Ball). Rhythm guitarist was at first Ryan Roxie. Ryan was in Dad's Porno Magazine and Alice Cooper's band. Ryan did the pre-album tour and the recording, but then decided to stick with his many other bands. SLASH was able to enlist the wonderful Keri Kelli as the band's second guitarist. Snakepit's vocalist is a newcomer, Rod Jackson, from Virginia and the band Ragdoll there. The new album was released October 10, 2000 in the US with the upbeat title Ain't Life Grand. Elsewhere in this website, you will find some song clips, lyrics and reviews. SLASH's Snakepit began their tour by opening for AC/DC on the North American leg of their tour. This gave the band huge exposure. The band toured the Far East with great results and and then did a European tour in December. In February 2001, the 'pit launched a club show in the US. The tour did very well, but on March 11, SLASH came down with the flu and the rest of this tour was cancelled. The band was also to open for AC/DC again in March in the US until SLASH's flu turned into pneumonia. It's hard to imagine this dynamo stopped by illness, and he won't be for long. May 2001 finds SLASH recuperating and planning the next leg of the tour. Snakepit gave its last performance in July 2001. The band went home for some rest before recording the next album. The rest time was getting long, so Snakepit (minus SLASH) got together to write some songs. Sadly, SLASH announced publicly that Snakepit was no more. SLASH was breaking up the band in order to do some solo projects of his own. He said that he had been through all that excitement of touring and arranging gigs when he was starting out. He was glad the guys had a good time, but he was not interested in repeating what they had done. So, Snakepit band members disappeared to other bands.
SLASH then decided he would do a solo project involving music from different countries. He would use guest musicians, but he would write all the music. At the same time, he started jamming with Duff and Matt. Soon, this project went from "not a high priority" to the three ex-Gunners' sole focus. Izzy was in and out, and The Project (this site gave it this temporary name) had music and some lyrics for 40 songs. Izzy decided he did not want to tour although he might jump in and out of a tour, and the guys picked up the guitarist from Duff's Loaded band, Dave Kushner. In early 2003, The Project auditioned vocalists. After throwing the job open to experienced and unknown singers, Scott Weiland, ex-Stone Temple Pilots was selected. The band called themselves Velvet Revolver and played their debut gig in the summer of 2003 at the El Rey theater in L.A. The band did some soundtrack work on The Hulk and The Italian Job and found a label (RCA). Velvet Revolver was to have their debut CD in the hands of the label by year's end 2003, and they had it in by 12/19. Unfortunately, Scott Weiland continued to have drug and legal problems that kept pushing the release date back further and further. The album title is Contraband and the release date is now June 8. While Scott is doing rehab, SLASH and Duff have been doing global promo! They promise a worldwide tour after the album is released. The first single off the album is "Slither", and a video was done where fans took part. The second single was "Fall To Pieces" with a video where fans again took a small part. The third is "Dirty Little Thing" with some great animation and graphics. The band received a great honor in being nominated for three Grammy awards and carrying away one for Best Rock Guitar Performance ("Slither"). Every day there is news on this great band and/or SLASH solo work. Here, we just hit the high points. For additional, frequent information, check out the Velvet Revolver on this site. Also follow the News Section for additional updated information on SLASH's new band. Rock 'N' Fuckin' Roll!
SLASH's life once seemed a symbol of rock and roll decadence, but things have calmed down with him in some ways. Once a heroin addict, SLASH has been off drugs for several years. His astounding drinking habits are sometimes in evidence, and he still smokes his Marlboros and Galitanos. A major change occurred when SLASH fell in love with Renee Suran. They were married October 10, 1992 in Marina Del Ray, California. Renee stayed out of the rock spotlight but was described as beautiful, sweet, and very much in love with SLASH. She pursued her own career as model and actress. Renee and SLASH both appeared in Howard Stern's movie "Private Parts". The two separated and divorced in the fall of 1997. They remain friends. After his divorce, SLASH was in Las Vegas when he ran into a young woman he had known for many years. Her name was Perla Ferrer, and the couple soon began dating seriously. Perla and SLASH eventually started living together, and fans started seeing Perla on the SLASH's Snakepit tours and his appearances in clubs or on TV. It became clear that Perla was someone very special to SLASH, and in 2000, the two became engaged to be married. Perla's beautiful, sparkling diamond ring was designed by SLASH himself. On October 15, Saul Hudson married Perla Ferrar in Maui in a solemn relgious service there. The bride wore a strapless, pleated white wedding gown and carried a beautiful floral bouquet that matched those in her long brown hair. SLASH wore new black leather pants, a white shirt, his faithful black leather jacket and a floral lei matching Perla's flowers. All their fans and friends and families wish Mr. and Mrs. Hudson a wonderful married life. The Hudsons returned to Los Angeles where they will buy a new home. In February 2002, SLASH and Perla announced that they are expecting their first child in September! On August 28, 2002 little London Hudson made his appearance! Despite some problems Perla had with the pregnancy, London was in excellent condition. He is a beautiful baby and the center of the family. SLASH just loves him so much, and he always has a sweet story about his son. As London approaches his second birthday in the summer of 2004, the Hudson's were also looking forward to the birth of their second child at the end of April. Cash Anthony Hudson was born on April 22, a healthy baby boy. SLASH's lifestyle has changed over the years. From being a wild rocker, SLASH has settled into a role of husband and father. Some things about SLASH don't change - his love for his music, his wife, his fans and his friends as well as the California climate and the Los Angeles setting. If you are in the Sunset Boulevard area, you might run into SLASH hanging out with Perla and his friends or jamming with a band on the Strip. He looks healthy and happy and a little more settled, but you can still see a little of that devilish rocker in his eyes!
About his small tv and movie parts, SLASH says that he is not looking to become an actor. He loves music and plays with a lot of artists. He seems not to have changed from the young musician who formed band after band, always looking for another chance to play. It was a family friend who nicknamed Saul Hudson "SLASH". He said SLASH was always in a hurry, zipping around from one thing to another. He named SLASH well!

Born on March 21, 1685 in Eisenach, Germany, Johann S. Bach
had a prestigious musical lineage and took on various organist positions
during the early 18th century, creating famous compositions like
"Toccata and Fugue in D minor." Later as Kantor of the Thomas School, he
composed most of his well-known religious and secular cantatas. He's
considered one of the greatest Western composers.<br />

<b><span style="font-size: large;">Childhood</span></b><br />
For Johann Sebastian Bach, music was a part of his DNA. He
came from a family of musicians, stretching back several generations.
His father, Johann Ambrosius, worked as the town musician in Eisenach,
and it is believed that he taught his son Johann Sebastian to play the
violin.<br />
At age of 7, Bach went to school where he received religious
instruction and studied Latin and other subjects. His Lutheran faith
would influence his later musical works. By the time he turned 10, Bach
found himself an orphan after the death of both of his parents. His
older brother Johann Christoph, a church organist in Ohrdruf, took him
in. Johann Christoph provided some further musical instruction for his
younger brother and enrolled him in a local school. Bach stayed with his
brother's family until he was 15.<br />
Bach had a beautiful soprano singing voice, which helped him land a
place at a school in Lüneburg. Sometime after his arrival, his voice
changed and Bach switched to playing the violin and the harpsichord.
Bach was greatly influenced by a local organist named George Böhm. In
1703, he landed his first job as a musician at the court of Duke Johann
Ernst in Weimar. There he was a jack-of-all-trades, serving as a
violinist at times and filling in for the official organist in other
moments.<br />
<h3>
<a href="http://draft.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=1254200991019919209" name="early-career"></a></h3>
<b><span style="font-size: large;">Early Career</span></b><br />
Bach had a growing reputation as a great performer, and it
was his great technical skill that landed him the position of organist
at the New Church in Arnstadt. He was responsible for providing music
for religious services and special events as well as giving music
instruction. An independent and sometimes arrogant young man, Bach did
not get along well with his students and was scolded by church officials
for not rehearsing them frequently enough.<br />
Bach did not help his situation any by disappearing for several
months in 1705. While he only officially receiving a few weeks' leave
from the church, he traveled to Lübeck to hear famed organist Dietrich
Buxtehude and extended his stay without informing anyone back in
Arnstadt.<br />
In 1707, Bach was glad to leave Arnstadt for a organist position at
the Church of St. Blaise in Mühlhausen. This move, however, did not turn
out as well as he had planned. Bach's musical style clashed with the
church's pastor. Bach created complex arrangements and had a fondness
for weaving together different melodic lines. His pastor believed that
church music needed to be simple. One of Bach's most famous works from
this time is the cantata "Gottes Zeit ist die allerbeste Zeit," which
also sometimes called "Actus Tragicus."<br />

<a href="http://draft.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=1254200991019919209" name="working-for-royalty"></a></h3>
<span style="font-size: large;"><b></b></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><b>Working for Royalty</b></span><br />
After a year in Mühlhausen, Bach won the post of organist at
the court of the Duke Wilhelm Ernst in Weimar. He wrote many church
cantatas and some of his best compositions for the organ while working
for the duke. During his time at Weimar, Bach wrote "Toccata and Fugue
in D Minor," one of his most popular pieces for the organ. He also
composed the cantata "Herz und Mund und Tat," or Heart and Mouth and
Deed. One section of this cantata, called "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring"
in English, has become especially famous.<br />
In 1717, Bach accepted a position with Prince Leopold of
Anhalt-Cöthen. But Duke Wilhelm Ernst had no interest in letting Bach go
and even imprisoned him for several weeks when he tried to leave. In
early December, Bach was released and allowed to go to Cöthen. Prince
Leopold had a passion for music. He played the violin and often bought
musical scores while traveling abroad.<br />
While at Cöthen, Bach devoted much of his time to instrumental music,
composing concertos for orchestras, dance suites and sonatas for
multiple instruments. He also wrote pieces for solo instruments,
including some of his finest violin works. His secular compositions
still reflected his deep commitment to his faith with Bach often writing
the initials I.N.J. for the Latin In Nomine Jesu, or "in the name of
Jesus," on his sheet music.<br />
In tribute to the Duke of Brandenburg, Bach created a series of
orchestra concertos, which became known as the Brandenburg Concertos, in
1721. These concertos are considered to some of Bach's greatest works.
That same year, Prince Leopold got married, and his new bride
discouraged the prince's interest in music. Bach completed the first
book of "The Well-Tempered Clavier" around <br />
this time. With students in mind, he put together this collection of
keyboard pieces to help them learn certain techniques and methods. Bach
had turn his attentions to finding work when the prince dissolved his
orchestra in 1723.<br />

<span style="font-size: large;"><b>Later Works in Leipzig</b></span><br />
After auditioning for a new position in Leipzig, Bach signed a
contract to become the new organist and teacher at St. Thomas Church.
He was required to teach at the Thomas School as a part of his position
as well. With new music needed for services each week, Bach threw
himself into writing cantatas. The "Christmas Oratorio," for example, is
a series of six cantatas that reflect on the holiday.<br />
Bach also created musical interpretations of the Bible using
choruses, arias and recitatives. These works are referred as his
Passions, the most famous of which is "Passion According to St.
Matthew." This musical composition, written in 1727 or 1729, tells the
story of chapters 26 and 27 of Gospel of Matthew. The piece was
performed as part of a Good Friday service.<br />
One of his later religious masterworks is "Mass in B minor." He had
developed sections of it, known as Kyrie and Gloria, in 1733, which were
presented to the Elector of Saxony. Bach did not finish the
composition, a musical version of a traditional Latin mass, until 1749.
The complete work was not performed during his lifetime.<br />
<h3>
<a href="http://draft.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=1254200991019919209" name="final-years"></a></h3>
<span style="font-size: large;"><b>Final Years</b></span><br />
By 1740, Bach was struggling with his eyesight, but he
continued to work despite his vision problems. He was even well enough
to travel and perform, visiting Frederick the Great, the king of Prussia
in 1747. He played for the king, making up a new composition on the
spot. Back in Leipzig, Bach refined the piece and gave Frederick a set
of fugues called "Musical Offering."<br />
In 1749, Bach started a new composition called "The Art of Fugue,"
but he did not complete it. He tried to fix his failing sight by having
surgery the following year, but the operation ended up leaving him
completely blind. Later that year, Bach suffered a stroke. He died on
July 28, 1750.<br />
During his lifetime, Bach was better known as an organist than a
composer. Few of his works were even published during his lifetime.
Still Bach's musical compositions were admired by those who followed in
his footsteps, including Amadeus Mozart and Ludwig van Beethoven. His reputation received a substantial boost in 1829 when German composer Felix Mendelssohn reintroduced Bach's "Passion According to St. Matthew."<br />
Musically, Bach was a master at invoking and maintaining different
emotions. He was an expert storyteller as well, often using melody to
suggest actions or events. In his works, Bach drew from different music
styles from across Europe, including French and Italian. He used
counterpoint, the playing of multiple melodies simultaneously, and
fugue, the repetition of a melody with slight variations, to create
richly detailed compositions. He is considered to be the best composer
of the Baroque era, and one of the most important figures in classical
music in general.<br />

<a href="http://draft.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=1254200991019919209" name="personal-life"></a></h3>
<b><span style="font-size: large;">Personal Life</span></b><br />
Little personal correspondence has survived to provide a full
picture of Bach as a person. But the records do shed some light on his
character. Bach was devoted to his family. In 1706, he married his
cousin Maria Barbara Bach. The couple had seven children together, some
of whom died as infants. Maria died in 1720 while Bach was traveling
with Prince Leopold. The following year, Bach married asinger named Anna
Magdalena Wülcken. They had thirteen children, more than half of them
died as children.<br />
Bach clearly shared his love of music with his children. From his
first marriage, Wilhelm Friedemann Bach and Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach
became composers and musicians. Johann Christoph Friedrich Bach and Johann Christian Bach , sons from his second marriage, also enjoyed musical success.<br />

<span style="font-size: large;"><b>Synopsis</b></span></div>
(born Jan. 27, 1756, Salzburg, [Austria]—died Dec. 5, 1791,
Vienna) Austrian composer widely recognized as one of the greatest in
the history of Western music. With Haydn and Beethoven he brought to its
height the achievement of the Viennese Classical school. Unlike any
other composer in musical history, he wrote in all the musical genres of
his day and excelled in every one. His taste, his command of form, and
his range of expression have made him seem the most universal of all
composers; yet,it may also be said that his music was written to accommodate the specific tastes of particular audiences.</div>

<div style="color: red;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Early Life</span></div>
Central Europe in the mid-18th century was going through a
period of transition. The remnants of the Holy Roman Empire had divided
into small semi-self-governing principalities. The result was competing
rivalries between these municipalities for identity and recognition.
Political leadership of small city-states like Salzburg, Vienna, and
Prague was in the hands of the aristocracy and their wealth would
commission artists and musicians to amuse, inspire, and entertain. The
music of the Renaissance and Baroque periods was transitioning toward
more full-bodied compositions with complex instrumentation. The small
city-state of Salzburg would be the birthplace of one of the most
talented and prodigious musical composers of all time.<br />
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s was the sole-surviving son of Leopold and
Maria Pertl Mozart. Leopold was a successful composer, violinist, and
assistant concert master at the Salzburg court. Wolfgang’s mother, Anna
Maria Pertl, was born to a middle class family of local community
leaders. His only sister was Maria Anna (knick-named “Nannerl”). With
their father’s encouragement and guidance, they both were introduced to
music at an early age. Leopold started Nannerl on keyboard when she was
seven, as three-year old Wolfgang looked on. Mimicking her playing,
Wolfgang quickly began to show a strong understanding of chords,
tonality, and tempo. Soon, he too was being tutored by his father.<br />
Leopold was a devoted and task-oriented teacher to both his children.
He made the lessons fun, but also insisted on a strong work ethic and
perfection. Fortunately, both children excelled well in these areas.
Recognizing their special talents, Leopold devoted much of his time to
their education in music as well as other subjects. Wolfgang soon showed
signs of excelling beyond his father’s teachings with an early
composition at age five and demonstrating outstanding ability on the
clavinet and the violin.<br />
In 1762, Wolfgang’s father took Nannerl, now age eleven, and
Wolfgang, age six to the court of Bavaria in Munich in what was to
become the first of several European "tours." The siblings traveled to
the courts of Paris, London, The Hague, and Zurich performing as child
prodigies. Wolfgang met a number of accomplished musicians and became
familiar with their works. Particularity important was his meeting with Johann Christian Bach ( Johann Christian Bach's youngest son) in London who had a strong influence on
Wolfgang. The trips were long and often arduous, traveling in primitive
conditions and waiting for invitations and reimbursements from the
nobility. Frequently, Wolfgang and other members of his family fell
seriously ill and had to limit their performance schedule.<br />

<a href="http://draft.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=1254200991019919209" name="budding-young-composer"></a></h3>
<div style="color: red;">
<b><span style="font-size: large;">Budding Young Composer</span></b></div>
In December, 1769, Wolfgang, then age 13, and his father
departed from Salzburg for Italy, leaving his mother and sister at home.
It seems that by this time Nannerl’s professional music career was
over. She was nearing marriageable age and according to the custom of
the time, she was no longer permitted to show her artistic talent in
public. The Italian outing was longer than the others (1769-1771) as
Leopold wanted to display his son’s abilities as a performer and
composer to as many new audiences as possible. While in Rome, Wolfgang
heard Gregorio Allegri’s <i>Miserere</i> performed once in the Sistine
Chapel. He wrote out the entire score from memory, returning only to
correct a few minor errors. During this time Wolfgang also wrote a new
opera, Mitridate, re di Ponto for the court of Milan. Other commissions
followed and in subsequent trips to Italy, Wolfgang wrote two other
operas, <i>Ascanio in Alba</i> (1771) and <i>Lucio Silla</i> (1772).<br />
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and his father returned from their last stay
in Italy in March, 1773. His father’s benefactor, Archbishop von
Schrattenbach had died and was succeeded by Hieronymus von Colleredo.
Upon their return, the new archbishop appointed young Mozart as
assistant concertmaster with a small salary. During this time, young
Mozart had the opportunity to work in several different musical genres
composing symphonies, string quartets, sonatas and serenades and a few
operas. He developed a passion for violin concertos producing what came
to be the only five he wrote. In 1776, he turned his efforts toward
piano concertos, culminating in the Piano Concerto Number 9 in E flat
major in early 1777. Wolfgang had just turned 21.<br />
Despite his success with the compositions, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
was growing discontent with his position as assistant concert master and
the confining environment of Salzburg. He was ambitious and believed he
could do more somewhere else. Archbishop von Colloredo was becoming
inpatient with the young genius’s complaining and immature attitude. In
August 1777, Mozart set out on a trip to find more prosperous
employment. The archbishop wouldn’t give Leopold permission to travel,
so Anna Maria accompanied Wolfgang on his quest to the cities of
Mannheim, Paris and Munich. There were several employment positions that
initially proved promising, but all eventually fell through. He began
to run out of funds and had to pawn several valuable personal items to
pay traveling and living expenses. The lowest point of the trip was when
is mother fell ill and died on July 3, 1778. After hearing the news of
his wife’s death, Leopold negotiated a better post for his son as court
organist in Salzburg and Wolfgang returned soon after.<br />

<div style="color: red;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><b>Making it in Vienna</b></span></div>
Back in Salzburg in 1779, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart produced a
series of church works, including the Coronation Mass. He also composed
another opera for Munich, Ideomeneo in 1781. In March of that year,
Mozart was summoned to Vienna by Archbishop von Colloredo, who was
attending the accession of <a href="http://www.biography.com/people/joseph-ii-9358214"></a>Joseph II
to the Austrian throne. The Archbishop’s cool reception toward Mozart
offended him. He was treated as a mere servant, quartered with the help,
and forbidden from performing before the Emperor for a fee equal to
half his yearly salary in Salzburg. A quarrel ensued and Mozart offered
to resign his post. The Archbishop refused at first, but then relented
with an abrupt dismissal and physical removal from the Archbishop’s
presence. Mozart decided to settle in Vienna as a freelance performer
and composer and for a time lived with friends at the home of Fridolin
Weber.<br />
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart quickly found work in Vienna, taking on
pupils, writing music for publication, and playing in several concerts.
He also began writing an opera Die Entführung aus dem Serail (The
Abduction from the Seraglio). In the summer of 1781, it was rumored that
Mozart was contemplating marriage to Fridolin Weber’s daughter,
Constanze. Knowing his father would disapprove of the marriage and the
interruption in his career, young Mozart quickly wrote his father
denying any idea of marriage. But by December, he was asking for his
father’s blessings. While it’s known that Leopold disapproved, what is
not known is the discussion between father and son as Leopold’s letters
were said to be destroyed by Constanze. However, later correspondence
from Wolfgang indicated that he and his father disagreed considerably on
this matter. He was in love with Constanze and the marriage was being
strongly encouraged by her mother, so in some sense, he felt committed.
The couple was finally married on August 4, 1782. In the meantime,
Leopold did finally consent to the marriage. Constanze and Wolfgang had
six children, though only two survived infancy, Karl Thomas and Franz
Xaver.<br />
As 1782 turned to 1783, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart became enthralled
with the work of Johannes Sebastian Bach and George Frederic Handel and
this, in turn, resulted in several compositions in the Baroque style and
influenced much of his later compositions, such as passages in <i>Die Zauberflote </i>(The
Magic Flute) and the finale of Symphony Number 41. During this time,
Mozart met Joseph Haydn and the two composers became admiring friends.
When Haydn visited Vienna, they sometimes performed impromptu concerts
with string quartets. Between 1782 and 1785 Mozart wrote six quartets
dedicated to Haydn.<br />
<h3>
<a href="http://draft.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=1254200991019919209" name="european-fame"></a></h3>
<div style="color: red;">
<b><span style="font-size: large;">European Fame</span></b></div>
The opera <i>Die Entführung </i>enjoyed immediate and
continuing success and bolstered Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s name and
talent throughout Europe. With the substantial returns from concerts and
publishing, he and Constanze enjoyed a lavish lifestyle. They lived in
one of the more <br />
exclusive apartment buildings of Vienna, sent their son, Karl Thomas,
to an expensive boarding school, kept servants, and maintained a busy
social life. In 1783, Mozart and Constanze traveled Salzburg, to visit
his father and sister. The visit was somewhat cool, as Leopold was still
a reluctant father-in-law and Nannerl was a dutiful daughter. But the
stay promoted Mozart to begin writing a mass in C Minor, of which only
the first two sections, "Kyrie" and "Gloria," were completed. In 1784, Mozart became a Freemason, a
fraternal order focused on charitable work, moral uprightness, and the
development of fraternal friendship. Mozart was well regarded in the
Freemason community, attending meetings and being involved in various
functions. Freemasonry also became a strong influence in Mozart’s music.
<br />
From 1782-1785, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart divided his time between
self-produced concerts as soloist, presenting three to four new piano
concertos in each season. Theater space for rent in Vienna was sometimes
hard to come by, so Mozart booked himself in unconventional venues such
as large rooms in apartment buildings and ballrooms of expensive
restaurants. The year 1784, proved the most prolific in Mozart’s
performance life. During one five-week period, he appeared in 22
concerts, including five he produced and performed as the soloist. In a
typical concert, he would play a selection of existing and
improvisational pieces and his various piano concertos. Other times he
would conduct performances of his symphonies. The concerts were very
well attended as Mozart enjoyed a unique connection with his audiences
who were, in the words of Mozart biographer Maynard Solomon, “given the
opportunity of witnessing the transformation and perfection of a major
musical genre.” During this time, Mozart also began to keep a catalog of
his own music, perhaps indicating an awareness of his place in musical
history.<br />
By the mid 1780s, Wolfgang and Constanze Mozart’s extravagant
lifestyle was beginning to take its toll. Despite his success as a
pianist and composer, Mozart was falling into serious financial
difficulties. Mozart associated himself with aristocratic Europeans and
felt he should live like one. He figured that the best way to attain a
more stable and lucrative income would be through court appointment.
However, this wouldn’t be easy with the court’s musical preference bent
toward Italian composers and the influence of Kapellmeister Antonio Salieri.
Mozart’s relationship with Salieri has been the subject of speculation
and legend. Letters written between Mozart and his father, Leonardo,
indicate that the two felt a rivalry for and mistrust of the Italian
musicians in general and Salieri in particular. Decades after Mozart’s
death, rumors spread that Salieri had poisoned him. This rumor was made
famous in 20th century playwright Peter Shaffer’s Amadeus and in the 1984 film of the same name by director Milos Foreman. But in truth there is no basis <br />
for this speculation. Though both composers were often in contention
for the same job and public attention, there is little evidence that
their relationship was anything beyond a typical professional rivalry.
Both admired each other’s work and at one point even collaborated on a
cantata for voice and piano called Per la recuperate salute di Ophelia.
<br />
Toward the end of 1785, Mozart met the librettist Lorenzo Da Ponte,a Venetian composer and poet and together they collaborated
on the opera The Marriage of Figaro. It received a successful premier in
Vienna in 1786 and was even more warmly received in Prague later that
year. This triumph led to a second collaboration with Da Ponte on the
opera Don Giovanni which premiered in 1787 to high acclaim in Prague.
Noted for their musical complexity, the two operas are among Mozart’s
most important works and are mainstays in operatic repertoire today.
Both compositions feature the wicked nobleman, though Figaro is
presented more in comedy and portrays strong social tension. Perhaps the
central achievement of both operas lies in their ensembles with their
close link between music and dramatic meaning.<br />

<div style="color: red;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><b>Later Years</b></span></div>
In December, 1787, Emperor Joseph II appointed Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart as his "chamber composer," a post
that had opened up with the death of Gluck. The gesture was as much an
honor bestowed on Mozart as it was incentive to keep the esteemed
composer from leaving Vienna for greener pastures. It was a part-time
appointment with low pay, but it required Mozart only to compose dances
for the annual balls. The modest income was a welcome windfall for
Mozart, who was struggling with debt, and provided him the freedom to
explore more of his personal musical ambitions.<br />
Toward the end of the 1780s, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s fortunes began
to grow worse. He was performing less and his income shrank. Austria
was at war and both the affluence of the nation and the ability of the
aristocracy to support the arts had declined. By mid-1788, Mozart moved
his family from central Vienna to the suburb of Alsergrund, for what
would seem to be a way of reducing living costs. But in reality, his
family expenses remained high and the new dwelling only provided more
room. Mozart began to borrow money from friends, though he was almost
always able to promptly repay when a commission or concert came his way.
During this time he wrote his last three symphonies and the last of the
three Da Ponte operas, <i>Cosi fan tutte</i>, which premiered in 1790.
During this time, Mozart ventured long distances from Vienna to Leipzig,
Berlin, and Frankfurt, and other German cities hoping to revive his
once great success and the family’s financial situation, but did
neither. The two-year period of 1788-1789 was a low point for Mozart,
experiencing in his own words "black thoughts" and deep depression.
Historians believe he may have had a cyclothymiacs personality with
manic-depressive tendencies, which might explain the periods of hysteria
coupled <br />
with spells of hectic creativity.
<br />
Between 1790 and 1791, now in his mid-thirties, Wolfgang Amadeus
Mozart went through a period of great music productivity and personal
healing. Some of his most admired works—the opera The Magic Flute, the
final piano concerto in B-flat, the Clarinet Concerto in A minor,and the unfinished Requiem to name a few—were written during
this time. Mozart was able to revive much of his public notoriety with
repeated performances of his works. His financial situation began to
improve as wealthy patrons in Hungary and Amsterdam pledged annuities in
return for occasional compositions. From this turn of fortune, he was
able to pay off many of his debts.<br />
However, during this time both Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s mental and
physical health was deteriorating. In September, 1791, he was in Prague
for the premier of the opera La clemenza di Tito, which he was
commissioned to produce for the coronation of Leopold II
as King of Bohemia. Mozart recovered briefly to conduct the Prague
premier of The Magic Flute, but fell deeper into illness in November and
was confined to bed. Constanze and her sister Sophie came to his side
to help nurse him back to health, but Mozart was mentally preoccupied
with finishing Requiem, and their efforts were in vain.<br />

<div style="color: red;">
<b><span style="font-size: large;">Death and Legacy</span></b></div>
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart died on December 5, 1791 at age 35.
The cause of death is uncertain, due to the limits of postmortem
diagnosis. Officially, the record lists the cause as severe miliary
fever, referring to a skin rash that looks like millet seeds. The most
widely accepted hypothesis, however was that Mozart died of acute
rheumatic fever, a disease he suffered from repeatedly throughout his
life. It was reported that his funeral drew few mourners and he was
buried in a common grave. Both actions were the Viennese custom at the
time, for only aristocrats and nobility enjoyed public mourning and were
allowed to be buried in marked graves. However, his memorial services
and concerts in Vienna and Prague were well attended. After his death,
Constanze sold many of his unpublished manuscripts to undoubtedly pay
off the family’s large debts. She was able to obtain a pension from the
Emperor and organized several profitable memorial concerts in Mozart’s
honor. From these efforts, Constanze was able to gain some financial
security for herself and allowing her to send her children to private
schools.<br />
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s death came at a young age, even for the
time period. Yet his meteoric rise to fame and accomplishment at a very
early age is reminiscent of more contemporary musical artists whose star
had burned out way too soon. At the time of his death, Mozart was
considered one of the greatest composers of all time. His music
presented a bold expression, often times complex and dissonant, and
required high technical mastery from the musicians who performed it. His
works remained secure and popular throughout the 19th century <br />
, as biographies were written and his music enjoyed constant
performances and renditions by other musicians. His work influenced many
composers that followed—most notably Beethoven—in its complexity and
depth. Along with his friend Joseph Haydn, Mozart conceived and
perfected the grand forms of symphony, opera, string ensemble, and
concerto that marked the classical period. In particular, his operas
display an uncanny psychological insight, unique to music at the time,and continue to exert a particular fascination for musicians and music lovers today.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08227236648355063005noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1254200991019919209.post-69169491320043326302012-09-17T11:58:00.000+07:002012-09-17T12:42:02.368+07:00Ludwig van Beethoven biography <div style="color: red; text-align: center;">

<b style="color: red;">Synopsis </b><br />
Composer Ludwig van Beethoven was baptized Dec. 17, 1770, in
Bonn, Germany. He was an innovator, widening the scope of sonata,
symphony, concerto, and quartet, and combining vocals and instruments in
a new way. His personal life was marked by a struggle against deafness,
and some of his most important works were composed during the last 10
years of his life, when he was quite unable to hear.</div>

<div style="color: red;">
<b>Early Years</b></div>
Composer; pianist. Ludwig Van Beethoven, widely considered
the greatest composer of all time, was born on or about December 16,
1770 in the city of Bonn in the Electorate of Cologne, a principality of
the Holy Roman Empire. Although his exact date of birth is uncertain,
Beethoven was baptized on December 17, 1770.<br />
Since as a matter of law and custom, babies were baptized within 24
hours of birth, December 16 is his most likely birthdate. However,
Beethoven himself mistakenly believed that he was born two years later,
in 1772, and he stubbornly insisted on the incorrect date even when
presented with official papers that proved beyond any reasonable doubt
that 1770 was his true birth year.<br />
Beethoven had two younger brothers who survived into adulthood,
Caspar, born in 1774, and Johann, born in 1776. Beethoven's mother,
Maria Magdalena van Beethoven, was a slender, genteel, and deeply
moralistic woman. His father, Johann van Beethoven, was a mediocre court
singer better known for his alcoholism than any musical ability.
However, Beethoven's grandfather, godfather and namesake, Kapellmeister
Ludwig van Beethoven, was Bonn's most prosperous and eminent musician, a
source of endless pride for young Ludwig.<br />
Sometime between the births of his two younger brothers, Beethoven's
father began teaching him music with an extraordinary rigor and
brutality that affected him for the rest of his life. Neighbors provided
accounts of the small boy weeping while he played the clavier, standing
atop a footstool to reach the keys, his father beating him for each
hesitation or mistake. On a near daily basis, Beethoven was flogged,
locked in the cellar and deprived of sleep for extra hours of practice.
He studied the violin and clavier with his father as well as taking
additional lessons from organists around town. Whether in spite of or
because of his father's draconian methods, Beethoven was a prodigiously
talented musician from his earliest days and displayed flashes of the
creative imagination that would eventually reach farther than any
composer's before or since.<br />
Hoping that his young son would be recognized as a musical prodigy à
la Mozart, Beethoven's father arranged his first public recital for
March 26, 1778. Billed as a "little son of six years," (Mozart's age
when he debuted for Empress Maria Theresia) although he was in fact
seven, Beethoven played impressively but his recital received no press
whatsoever. Meanwhile, the musical prodigy attended a Latin grade school
named Tirocinium, where a classmate said, "Not a sign was to be
discovered&<br />
of that spark of genius which glowed so brilliantly in him
afterwards." Beethoven, who struggled with sums and spelling his entire
life, was at best an average student, and some biographers have
hypothesized that he may have had mild dyslexia. As he put it himself,
"Music comes to me more readily than words." In 1781, at the age of 10,
Beethoven withdrew from school to study music full time with Christian
Gottlob Neefe, the newly appointed Court Organist. Neefe introduced
Beethoven to Bach,
<br />
<div class="module" id="biography-table-of-contents-module">
</div>
and at the age of twelve Beethoven published his first
composition, a set of piano variations on a theme by an obscure
classical composer named Dressler.
<br />
By 1784, his alcoholism worsening and his voice decaying,
Beethoven's father was no longer able to support his family, and Ludwig
van Beethoven formally requested an official appointment as Assistant
Court Organist. Despite his youth, his request was accepted, and
Beethoven was put on the court payroll with a modest annual salary of
150 florins.<br />
In an effort to facilitate his musical development, in 1787 the court
decided to send Beethoven to Vienna to study with Mozart. Upon his
arrival, Beethoven auditioned for Mozart and the great composer
remarked, "Keep your eyes on him; some day he will give the world
something to talk about." However, only a few weeks after he arrived in
Vienna, Beethoven learned that his mother had fallen desperately ill,
and he immediately rushed home to Bonn. She died several months later,
sending her son into a fit of depression that lasted several years.
Remaining in Bonn, Beethoven continued to carve out his reputation as
the city's most promising young court musician.<br />
When the Holy Roman Emperor joseph II<a href="http://www.biography.com/people/joseph-ii-9358214"></a>
died in 1790, a 19-year-old Beethoven received the immense honor of
composing a musical memorial in his honor. For reasons that remain
unclear, Beethoven's composition was never performed, and most assumed
the young musician had proven unequal to the task. However, more than a
century later, Johannes Brahms discovered that Beethoven had in fact composed a "beautiful and noble" piece of music entitled <i>Cantata on the Death of Emperor Joseph II</i>. It is now considered his earliest masterpiece.<br />

<h3>
<a href="http://draft.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=1254200991019919209" name="composing-for-audiences"></a></h3>
In 1792, with French revolutionary forces sweeping across the
Rhineland into the Electorate of Cologne, Beethoven decided to leave
his hometown for Vienna once again. Mozart had passed away a year
earlier, leaving Joseph Haydn as the unquestioned greatest composer
alive. Haydn was living in Vienna at the time, and it was with Haydn
that the young Beethoven now intended to study. As his friend and patron
Count Waldstein wrote in a farewell letter, "Mozart's genius mourns and
weeps over the death of his disciple. It found refuge, but no release
with the inexhaustible Haydn; through him, now, it seeks to unite with <br />
another. By means of assiduous labor you will receive the spirit of Mozart from the hands of Haydn."
<br />
In Vienna, Beethoven dedicated himself wholeheartedly to musical
study with the most eminent musicians of the age. He studied piano with
Haydn, vocal composition with Antonio Salieri and counterpoint with Johann Albrechtsberger. Not yet known as a composer,Beethoven quickly established a reputation as a virtuoso
pianist who was especially adept at improvisation. He won many patrons
among the leading citizens of the Viennese aristocracy, who provided him
with lodging and funds, allowing Beethoven, in 1794, to sever ties with
the Electorate of Cologne. Beethoven made his long-awaited public debut
in Vienna on March 29, 1795. Although there is considerable debate over
which of his early piano concerti he performed that night, most
scholars believe he played what is known as his "first" piano concerto
in C Major. Shortly thereafter, Beethoven decided to publish a series of
three piano trios as his "Opus 1," which were an enormous critical and
financial success.<br />
In the first spring of the new century, on April 2, 1800, Beethoven
debuted his Symphony No. 1 in C major at the Royal Imperial Theater in
Vienna. Although Beethoven would grow to detest the piece — "In those
days I did not know how to compose," he later remarked — the graceful
and melodious symphony nevertheless established him as one of Europe's
most celebrated composers. As the new century progressed, Beethoven
composed piece after piece that marked him as a masterful composer
reaching his musical maturity. His "Six String Quartets," published in
1801, demonstrate complete mastery of that most difficult and cherished
of Viennese forms developed by Mozart and Haydn. Beethoven also composed
<i>The Creatures of Prometheus</i> in 1801, a wildly popular ballet that received 27 performances at the Imperial Court Theater.<br />
Around this time Beethoven, like all of Europe, watched with a mixture of awe and terror as <a href="http://www.biography.com/people/napoleon-9420291"></a>Napoleon Bonaparte proclaimed himself First Consul, and later Emperor, of
France. Beethoven admired, abhorred and, to an extent, identified with
Napoleon a man of seemingly superhuman capabilities, only one year older
than himself and also of obscure birth. In 1804, only weeks after
Napoleon proclaimed himself Emperor, Beethoven debuted his Symphony No. 3
in Napoleon's honor. Later renamed the "Eroica Symphony" because
Beethoven grew disillusioned with Napoleon, it was his grandest and most
original work to date — so unlike anything heard before that through
weeks of rehearsal, the musicians could not figure out how to play it. A
prominent reviewer proclaimed Eroica, "one of the most original, most
sublime, and most profound products that the entire genre of music has
ever exhibited."<br />

<div style="color: red;">
<b>Losing Hearing </b></div>
At the same time as he was composing hese great and immortal works, Beethoven was struggling to come to
terms with a shocking and terrible fact, one that he tried desperately
to conceal. He was going deaf. By the turn of the century, Beethoven
struggled to make out the words spoken to him in conversation. He
revealed in a heart-wrenching 1801 letter to his friend Franz Wegeler,
"I must confess that I lead a miserable life. For almost two years I
have ceased to attend any social functions,just because I find it impossible to say to people: I am
deaf. If I had any other profession, I might be able to cope with my
infirmity; but in my profession it is a terrible handicap." At times
driven to extremes of melancholy by his affliction, Beethoven described
his despair in a long and poignant note that he concealed his entire
life. Dated October 6, 1802 and referred to as "The Heiligenstadt
Testament," it reads in part, "O you men who think or say that I am
malevolent, stubborn or misanthropic, how greatly do you wrong me. You
do not know the secret cause which makes me seem that way to you and I
would have ended my life — it was only my art that held me back. Ah, it
seemed impossible to leave the world until I had brought forth all that I
felt was within me." <br />
Almost miraculously, despite his rapidly progressing deafness,
Beethoven continued to compose at a furious pace. From 1803-1812, what
is known as his "middle" or "heroic" period, he composed an opera, six
symphonies, four solo concerti, five string quartets, six string
sonatas, seven piano sonatas, five sets of piano variations, four
overtures, four trios, two sextets and seventy-two songs. The most
famous among these were symphonies No. 3-8, the "Moonlight Sonata," the
"Kreutzer" violin sonata and Fidelio, his only opera. In terms of the
astonishing output of superlatively complex, original and beautiful
music, this period in Beethoven's life is unrivaled by any of any other
composer in history.<br />
Despite his extraordinary output of beautiful music, Beethoven was
lonely and frequently miserable throughout his adult life.
Short-tempered, absent-minded, greedy and suspicious to the point of
paranoia, Beethoven feuded with his brothers, his publisher,
his housekeepers, his pupils and his patrons. In one illustrative
incident, Beethoven attempted to break a chair over the head of Prince
Lichnowsky, one of his closest friends and most loyal patrons. Another
time he stood in the doorway of Prince Lobkowitz's palace shouting for
all to hear, "Lobkowitz is a donkey!"<br />
For a variety of reasons that included his crippling shyness and
unfortunate physical appearance, Beethoven never married or had
children. He was, however, desperately in love with a married woman
named Antonie Brentano. Over the course of two days in July of 1812,
Beethoven wrote her a long and beautiful love letter that he never sent.
Addressed "to you, my Immortal Beloved," the letter <br />
said in part, "My heart is full of so many things to say to you — ah —
there are moments when I feel that speech amounts to nothing at all —
Cheer up — remain my true, my only love, my all as I am yours." The
death of Beethoven's brother Caspar in 1815 sparked one of the great
trials of his life, a painful legal battle with his sister-in-law,
Johanna, over the custody of Karl van Beethoven,his nephew and her son. The struggle stretched on for seven
years during which both sides spewed ugly defamations at the other. In
the end, Beethoven won the boy's custody, though hardly his affection. <br />
Somehow, despite his tumultuous personal life, physical infirmity,
and complete deafness, Beethoven composed his greatest music — perhaps
the greatest music ever composed — near the end of his life. His
greatest late works include <i>Missa Solemnis</i>, a mass that debuted
in 1824 and is considered among his finest achievements, and String
Quartet No. 14, which contains seven linked movements played without a
break. Beethoven's Ninth and final symphony, completed in 1824, remains
the illustrious composer's most towering achievement. The symphony's
famous choral finale, with four vocal soloists and a chorus singing the
words of Friedrich Schiller's poem "Ode to Joy," is perhaps the most
famous piece of music in history. While connoisseurs delighted in the
symphony's contrapuntal and formal complexity, the masses found
inspiration in the anthem-like vigor of the choral finale and the
concluding invocation of "all humanity."<br />
Beethoven died on March 26, 1827 at the age of 56. An autopsy
revealed that the immediate cause of death was post-hepatitic cirrhosis
of the liver. The autopsy also provided clues to the origins of his
deafness. While his quick temper, chronic diarrhea and deafness are
consistent with arterial disease, a competing theory traces Beethoven's
deafness to contracting typhus in the summer of 1796. Recently,
scientists analyzing a remaining fragment of Beethoven's skull noticed
high levels of lead and hypothesized lead poisoning as a potential cause
of death, but that theory has been largely discredited.<br />
Ludwig van Beethoven is widely considered the greatest composer of
all time. He is the crucial transitional figure connecting the Classical
and Romantic ages of Western music. Beethoven's body of musical
compositions stands with Shakespeare's plays at the outer limits of
human accomplishment. And the fact Beethoven composed his most beautiful
and extraordinary music while deaf is an almost superhuman feat of
creative genius, perhaps only paralleled in the history of artistic
achievement by Jhon Milton
writing Paradise Lost while blind. Summing up his life and imminent
death during his last days, Beethoven, who was never as eloquent with
words as he was with music, borrowed a tag line that concluded many
Latin plays at the time. "Plaudite, amici, comoedia finita est," he
said. "Applaud friends, the comedy is over."<br />

1.79 times higher risk of suffering from lung cancer than those who waited more
than 60 minutes. Meanwhile, those who smoked 31-60 minutes after waking up had
1.31 times the risk compared to those who wait at least an hour. The second
study involved 1055 people with brain and neck cancer and 795 people who smoked
but did not suffer brain and neck cancer. Those who smoked within 30 minutes
when you wake up 1.59 times the risk of brain and neck cancer compared with
those who waited an hour. The risk of smokers who smoked 31-60 minutes after
waking up 1.42 times than those who wait at least an hour.</span></span></span></h3>

is one of the most hated enemy by everyone, especially women. Acne is
not including a dangerous disease. But its presence is very annoying,
though acne is not harmful but should we treat and handle well.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span>Acne
is caused by clogged pores due to overactive oil glands. Although many
medical experts who denied any connection between acne with the food we
eat, there's no harm in avoiding some foods that supposedly can trigger
acne.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span>Here are some foods can cause acne:</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span><b>1. Sugar and Chocolate</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span>Chocolate
may be one of the most food trigger acne. Archives of Dermatology
published a study which explains that the food has a high Glycemic Index
scale, usually in processed carbohydrates such as sugar can cause the
appearance of acne due to increased hormone levels.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span><b>2. Milk</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span>Some
studies show a high milk intake may be associated with the appearance
of acne. A Harvard study found that teens who drink milk more than two
servings a day are more likely to suffer from severe acne. That is
because the increase in growth hormone which causes the sebaceous glands
in the skin become clogged.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span><b>3. Iodine</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span>Iodine
may be one factor in the appearance of acne, such as skin oil glands
which can irritate skin that is prone to acne. Iodine can be found in
fish and shellfish because sea water contains iodine. In addition other
sources comes from iodized salt which is a component of several types of
canned food.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span><b>4.Caffeine and Alcohol</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span>Caffeine
is considered to trigger the appearance of acne because it can affect
hormone levels produced by the body. Some sources of caffeine are
coffee, tea, soft drinks, and chocolate. In addition, alcohol also
causes an increase in hormones, particularly testosterone can cause acne
more often.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span><b>5. Food Allergy Triggers</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span>Skin
problems often arise due to food allergies, especially milk and eggs.
Acne appears due to the immune system tries to fight the poison that is
felt. An allergist has diagnosed and confirmed the relationship of food
allergy with severe acne.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span><b>6. Fruit and Vegetable Characteristically Acid</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span>Some
fruits and vegetables that are acidic can cause the appearance of acne,
such as carrots, cucumbers, oranges, and lettuce. The acidity of the
body can cause the appearance of acne, because it should be avoided.</span></div>

Tips for Mixing Rap Vocals</h2>
<div class="social4i" style="height: 29px;">
<div class="social4in" style="float: left; height: 29px;">
<div class="socialicons s4fblike" style="float: left; margin-right: 15px;">
<span style="height: 20px; width: 74px;"></span></div>
</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
If I had to pick the most frequent question
I get asked on a regular basis – it would have to be “how do I mix rap
vocals?” Or some variation thereof. At least once a week, if not more
often.</div>
I mix a new rap vocal four or five times a week – much more if you
count different rappers on the same song. I have developed an approach –
sort of a formula to create a formula. In truth, we know that all
songs, vocals, captures, and performances are different. There can never
be one formula to mix all vocals effectively. And there are many
approaches to conceptualizing a vocal treatment – mine is one of many.<br />
<h3>
The Concept</h3>
It all starts with the concept. I say this time and time again, and
it only gets more true as I say it – in order to mix anything – you need
an end game. There has to be some kind of idea of where the vocal is
going to go before you start getting it there. That idea can and
probably will change along the way, but there has to be some direction
or else why do anything at all.<br />
The big problem most people have with mixing rap vocals is that they
think of the word “vocals” without considering the word “rap.” Rap is
supremely general – there are big differences between 1994 NY style rap
vocals, and 2010 LA style rap vocals.<br />
Even within that you have A Tribe Called Quest – “1nce Again” vs. LL
Cool J – “Loungin’”. Both are laid back smoother rap songs, but the
mixing is totally different. (compare below)<br />
Loungin’ is a quintessential Bad Boy style sound, mixed by Rich Travali – you can hear the similarities between that and 112, Total, Mariah Carey and later Biggie tracks.<br />
1nce Again is a prime example of a bob power mix – a sound which pretty much dominated early NY rap.<br />
I bring up this distinction because I hope you’ll compare the two.
Notice how in Loungin’ the vocals are up in the mix – level with the
snare – and have a “shiny” and smooth top end, great clarity and a
really open yet detailed upper midrange.<br />
Meanwhile in 1nce again, the vocals are just under the snare and have
an extremely forward and aggressive mid-range, and a grittier rolled
off top end, and a steep hi-pass filter on the low end. The shape of the
vocal is also different – the compression is much easier on Loungin,
and again, very aggressive on 1nce Again (particularly Phife’s voice).<br />
Let’s take a more modern track, say Nicki Minaj’s “Massive Attack.”<br />
Here you have super clear presence and treble in the vocals, the
vocals are up in the mix, and there isn’t as much lower mid range as say
“Loungin.”<br />
<h4>
<a name='more'></a>Each of the 3 examples does something very specific:</h4>
<ul class="goodlist"><ul>
<li>“1nce Again” is edgy and aggressive sounding – quintessential to the early NY sound, and rap’s image at the time.</li>
<li>“Loungin’” is very intimate and smooth – it’s almost like an R&B song sonically.</li>
<li>“Massive Attack” has the vocals clear as crystal, but leaves plenty
of room for the low range drums to dominate the mix – which is good for
clubs. </li>
</ul>
</ul>
The point is, the what and why are just as important as the how when
it comes to mixing vocals. Who is the artist’s audience, what is the
artist’s style, where is the song being played – and what can you as the
engineer do to encapsulate that?<br />
<em>So you’ve determined what you want… but how do you get there?</em><br />
<h3>
The Cleanup</h3>
Before mixing, many rap vocals need a little cleaning. Common issues
are – the vocals were recorded in an unideal location, such as a closet
(I get that one all the time) or a bathroom. I know it sounds weird but
the myth has gone around that recording in a closet or a bathroom is a
good idea. Generally speaking, it’s not. The other common issue – the
vocals were recorded too hot. Again, a myth
has seemed to perpetuate that it’s a good idea to record the signal as
loudly as possibly. This is totally untrue, particularly in the age of
24-bit audio.<br />
Cleaning up is a little rough at times – because the scope of what
you can do is limited. For audio that came in too hot – ie, is clipping,
distortion removal software such as iZotope’s Rx De-Clipper is ideal.
Also, that distortion will create frequency center resonances, which can be eased off with an EQ.<br />
For vocals tracked in a reverberant space, subtle gating, and careful
EQ can suppress the room sound – or you can use software like SPL
De-Verb. The other option is to mix the track in a way that makes the
reverb appear deliberate.<br />
For vocals tracked in closets or corners, the issue will be comb
filtering. One trick for easing off comb filtering – if there are
doubles of the vocal, pitch shift them up or down a slight amount. This
will change the frequency bands that are being filtered, so that when
layered with the main vocal, the same bands will not be missing all
across the board. The backups will “fill in” the missing bands. The comb
filtering will still be there, but it won’t be as readily apparent.<br />
<h2>
Processing</h2>
Now you have the vocals clean (or maybe they came in clean to begin
with). It’s time to decide what to do with them. Now, I can’t write how
you should or should not process your vocals, but I can give some
insight into things to consider and think about.<br />
<h3>
Balance</h3>
Figuring out the relationship between the vocals and other
instruments in the same frequency area is extremely important.
Quintessentially, Hip Hop is all about the relationship between the
vocals and the drums – and the number one contestant with the voice is
the snare. Finding a way to make both the vocals and the snare prominent
without stepping on each other will make the rest of the mix fall
nicely into place.<br />
In “1nce Again,” you’ll notice that the snare is a little louder than
the vocals, and seems to be concentrated into the brighter area of the frequency spectrum,
while the vocals are just an inch down, and living more in the mid
range. This was a conscious decision made in the mix. But mixes like
Loungin’ have the vocals on par with the snare. And Massive Attack has
the vocals up – but it’s not really a snare, it’s a percussive
instrument holding down the 2 and 4 that lives primarily in the lower
mid region.<br />
<h3>
“Air”</h3>
Hip Hop vocals generally do not have much in the way of reverb. There
are three reason for this primarily. 1) Rap vocals tend to move faster
and hold more of a rhythmic function than sung vocals – and long reverb
tails can blur the rhythm and articulation. (2) The idea of Hip Hop is
to be “up front and in your face”, where reverb tends to sink things
back in the stereo field. (3) Everyone else is mixing their vocals that
way. Not a good reason, but kind of true.<br />
However, vocals usually do benefit from sense of 3-D sculpting, or “air.” A sense of space
around the vocals that make them more lively and vivid. Very short,
wide, quiet reverb can really do the trick here. Another good thing to
try is using delay (echo) – and pushing the delay way in the background,
with a lot of high end rolled off of it. This creates the sense of a
very deep three dimensional space, which by contrast makes the vocal
seem even more forward. Lastly, if you are in a good tracking situation,
carefully bringing out the natural space of the tracking room can be a
good way to get super dry vocals with a sense of air around them.
Compression with a very slow attack, and relatively quick release, and a
boost to the super-treble range can often bring out the natural air.<br />
<h3>
Shape & Consistency</h3>
A little compression
is often nice on vocals, just to sit them into a mix and add a little
tone. On a sparse mix, a little dab’ll do ya. The most common mistake
people make when processing vocals for Hip Hop is to over-compress. High
levels of compression is really only beneficial to a mix when there is a
lot of stuff fighting for sonic space. When you read about rapper’s
vocals going through four compressors and really getting squeezed it’s
probably because there are tons of things already going on in the mix,
and the compression is necessary for the vocals to cut through. Or
because it’s a stylistic choice to really crunch the vocals.<br />
<h3>
Filtering</h3>
What’s going on around the voice is just as important to the vocals
as the vocals themselves. Carefully picking what to get rid of to help
the vocals along is very important. For example, most engineers hi-pass
filter almost everything except the kick and bass. That clears up room
for the low information. But often the importance of low-pass filtering
is overlooked. Synths, even bass synths, can have a lot of high end
information that is just not necessary to the mix and leave the “air”
range around the vocals feeling choked. A couple of well placed
low-passes could very well bring your vocals to life.<br />
Also, back to the subject of hi-passing, unless you are doing the
heavy handed Bob Power thing, you really don’t need to be hard
hi-passing your vocals at 120hz. The human voice, male and female, has
chest resonance that goes down to 80hz (and even under sometimes). Try a
gentle hi-pass at around 70 or 80hz to start with if you’re clearing up
the vocals. Or maybe no hi-pass at all…<br />
<h3>
Presence</h3>
Deciding where the vocal lives frequency wise is important. Mid
sounding, “telephonic” vocals can be cool at times, low mid “warm”
sounding vocals certainly have their place. Commonly, the practice is to
hype the natural presence of the vocals by getting rid of the “throat”
tones and proximity build up which generally live around the 250-600hz
range (but don’t mix by numbers, listen listen listen). This in turn
exaggerates the chest sound, and the head sound – particularly the
sounds that form at the front of the mouth, tongue, and teeth – these
are the tones that we use to pronounce our words and generally live in
the upper midrange (2k-5k, no numbers, listen listen listen).<br />

Achieving high quality vocal recordings can be confusing at the best of
times. Having clear and prominent vocals with the right processing can
really enhance your mix and add a serious boost to your production
skills.. <br />
<br />
The tips and techniques shown in this article will help you achieve the results that your music deserves. </td>

<div class="header1">
<strong>Choosing The Right Microphone:</strong> </div>
First of all you need to decide if you’re going to use a
Small or Large diaphragm microphone. Your choice of microphone for a
singers particular vocal tone can have a dramatic effect on the final
mix. Typically, in today's industry, large diaphragm microphones are
the standard. They offer a certain warmth and smoothness but can also
lend your singer an airy/sizzly tone. Cardioid-Pattern Capacitor
Microphones are the most common for any type of Pop or Urban
recordings. However some singers prefer to use dynamic microphones such
as some ‘Shure’ models because it brings out a certain tone in their
voice. <br />
<table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" style="width: 100%px;">
<tbody>
<tr>
<td class="textonly" width="82%">Valve/Tube condenser
mic's have also been popular over the years with their added warmth as
the valve in the mic gets driven and adds a mild harmonic distortion
that is pleasing to the ear.<br />
A favourite of mine is the 90’s model of the AKG
Solidtube which was a particularly ‘colourful’ mic. I used this mic to
record the acoustic guitars for our <strong><a href="http://www.platinumloops.com/detail.php?prod_id=60&cat_id=84&order=name&page=1">Acoustic Guitar - Steel String Essentials V1</a></strong> loop pack. It's also a great vocal mic and works surprisingly well as a room ambience mic for drums.</td>
<td width="18%"><img align="right" alt="Vocal Mic" height="153" src="http://www.platinumloops.com/images/solid.jpg" width="79" /></td>
</tr>
</tbody></table>
Although the make and model is important, the tonal
characteristics and overall sound is key! This is much more important
to the singer than a lot of producers and engineers can appreciate.
Most singers don’t care what microphone patterns, make and model is
used, just as long as you can bring out a good sound in their vocals.
There is nothing more frustrating to a singer than knowing they nailed a
perfect take, only to find out the recording doesn't do it justice.
<br />
<div class="header1">
<strong>Polar Patterns:</strong> </div>
This also ties in with ‘Choosing The Correct Microphone’
section above. It’s important to take the polar patterns of certain
microphones in to account when purchasing your next microphone.
Cardioid-Pattern Microphones are the industry favorite because they
generally exclude most off axis sounds, such as room reflections, spill
from other sources and the home studio nightmare of the computer fan /
cooler! We would recommend not using an omni-directional pattern
microphone unless you have a vocal booth. Omni-directional microphones
are equally sensitive all round and will pick up a lot of unwanted
sound. If you do have a vocal booth you may find that this type of
polar pattern can pick up a more desired vocal sound, or natural
ambience. Try testing out different microphones with different polar
patterns and compare the recordings and see what you prefer. As long as
you have a good ear for music, it’s all about personal taste. <br />
Ribbon microphones are also worth mentioning. As of late,
these microphones are showing up in more and more studios. They all
have figure-of-eight polar patterns and deliver a very unique and
bright sound. Figure of eight polar pattern microphones are equally
sensitive to the front as they are the back. In a home studio, putting a
sound absorbing panel behind the microphone can stop any unwanted
sound to leak in to the vocal recording. <br />
<div class="header1">
<strong></strong></div>
<a name='more'></a><strong>Buyers Tip:</strong> <br />
Last year I was in the market for a new vocal mic for some
new recordings for Platinumloops so I hired about 8 different
condenser mic's of varying qualities and price ranges. By setting them
all up on separate mic stands behind a pro quality pop shield I was
able to record lots of vocal takes on multiple mic's. <br />
I also rotated the mic positions so that each mic got a
fair shot at recording the sweet spot. By doing this I was able to make
accurate comparisons of recordings from each mic which yielded
surprising results. Some of the most expensive mic's didn't sound as
good as the less expensive mic's. It was also good to try adding
compression, eq and de-essing to each track individually to see how
much that affected the tone of the mic. I found that some mic's
required less processing than others in order to create a transparent,
even tone. <br />

<tr>
<td width="21%"><img alt="Mic" height="160" src="http://www.platinumloops.com/images/mic.gif" width="96" /></td>
<td width="79%"><div class="textonly">
In the end the mic I
eventually purchased was the SE Electronics Z3300A and to this day is my
favourite all round vocal mic. This is the mic I used to record our
popular <strong><a href="http://www.platinumloops.com/detail.php?prod_id=175&cat_id=26&order=name&page=1">Lush V1 - 12 String Guitar & Voice</a></strong> loop pack.</div>
<div class="textonly">
The store that I purchased the mic from was <strong>Music Maxx</strong>
in Nanaimo and they were kind enough to knock off the rental fee when I
decided to buy. I highly recommend you use this approach with your
local studio supplier to find the right mic for your voice without
wasting money.</div>
</td>

<div class="header1">
<strong>Mic Pre-amps</strong> </div>
As I covered in my article on <strong><a href="http://www.platinumloops.com/how_to_record_drums.shtml">How to Record Drums</a></strong>, do you really need a Microphone Pre-amp?<br />
<br />
<img alt="Mic Pre-Amp" height="65" src="http://www.platinumloops.com/images/liquid.jpg" width="300" /><br />
The answer is No you don't NEED them, but it would be nice
to use the best Mic-pre's you can get your hands on. My microphone
pre-amp of choice is the Focusrite Liquid Channel which I use on pretty
much everything I record. I like to tweak the "harmonics" knob on the
Liquid channel just a little bit on the snare but this is only a very
subtle enhancement. <br />
<div class="header1">
<strong>Acoustic Problems And Treatments:</strong> </div>
Unless your studio has been professionally designed by
professional acoustic designers there will be reflections from lots of
different sources in your recording room. <br />
<div class="blackbold11">
Why is this such a big problem? </div>
Well, if you get the sound you’re after you will still
have the reverb and reflections from the room layered over the vocal
take. So when adding a nice reverb sound in the mix, you’ll essentially
be adding reverb to an already reverberated signal. This is a huge
problem in the typical home studio. <br />
Home studios have lots of unwanted room reflections and
prevent you from achieving a professional sound. Overlooking acoustic
treatment is a big mistake. You could spend thousands on a great
selection of microphones and equipment, but without a correctly treated
recording booth / room you’ll have problems at the mixing stage.
<br />
<table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" style="width: 100%px;">
<tbody>
<tr>
<td valign="top" width="27%"><img alt="Acoustic Treatment" height="196" src="http://www.platinumloops.com/images/treatment.jpg" width="112" /></td>
<td width="73%"><div class="textonly">
If you can’t afford to
do much acoustic treatment, many home studios simply hang a duvet,
blanket or curtains behind the microphone and around the singer. This
can go a long way and you’ll be able to notice the difference
immediately. This will at least stop the ‘boxy’ type of sound you get
when not treating the environment. A rug/carpet rather than wood floor
will also help tremendously. </div>
<div class="textonly">
If you can afford acoustic treatment
there are various products available that wont break the bank and will
seriously reduce your room reflections. We recently treated one of our
new mixing rooms with a Room Kit and Cloud Kit from Primacoustic and it
seriously improved the sound of the room for less than $1000. </div>
</td>
</tr>
</tbody></table>
<span class="textonly"><br />
If you're a lottery winner there are many professional
acoustic engineers available to take your money and get your rooms
sounding perfect. A quick internet search will yield many results.</span>
<div class="header1">
<strong>Shock-Mount & Pop Shield:</strong> </div>
<table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" style="width: 100%px;">
<tbody>
<tr>
<td width="82%"><div class="textonly">
While a Shock-Mount is
not the most important aspect in achieving a great vocal sound, it
will stop those annoying low end vibrations coming up from the floor.
Most decent microphones will come with a Shock-Mount. </div>
<div class="textonly">
You’re almost there. Before you can
start recording, purchasing a decent Shock-Mount and Pop Shield is
vital. Fitting the pop shield a few inches away from the microphone will
stop the popping and booming problems you’ll get in the vocal
performance. Certain words and sounds, such as ‘P’ will give that
effect, using a pop shield eliminates the blasts of air (called
‘Plosives’) hitting the microphones diaphragm. </div>
</td>
<td width="18%"><img align="right" alt="Use a Pop Shield to reduce Plosives" height="167" src="http://www.platinumloops.com/images/shield.jpg" width="125" /></td>
</tr>
</tbody></table>
<div class="header1">
<strong>Recording Vocals</strong> </div>
Now you’re finally ready to start recording the vocals. We
would suggest not using much compression (if any) at the recording
stages, and definitely no EQ. Recording the sound with no processing
allows more flexibility and control at the mix stage. Experienced
engineers may use certain types of processing at the recordings stage,
but this is risky. What might sound great when isolated might sound
terrible in the mix and frequency spectrum. For this reason I would
suggest recording with no effects or processing. A tiny bit of
compression can work well, but make sure not to overdo it. You can
always add more at the mixing stage! <br />
When recording vocals it’s important to help the singer
achieve the best performance. For starters, setting up a good headphone
mix can make things much easier for yourself and the singer. The
headphone mix must be well balanced, giving the singer a small amount
of reverb or delay. It’s also a good idea to do a few test recordings
and find out what headphone mix the singer likes. They may want to be
smothered in reverb if that helps make them confident. As we mentioned
earlier you don’t want any processing on the vocals during recording,
so even though you’re giving the singer reverb, make sure it’s not on
the recording. Simply add the effects and processing on the output of
your channel as you send it to the microphone amp for the singer.
You’ll want the flexibility to add different reverbs and see what
sounds good later on. You always want as much freedom as possible at
the mixing stage. <br />
<div class="header1">
Be Friendly</div>
Your attitude as a producer / engineer can also be the
deciding factor in the singer delivering a good vocal performance. Try
to be encouraging rather than critical about their performance. It’s
usually a good idea to get the singer to sit in with you after
recording a few vocal takes and let them listen to what they've
recorded. They are usually their own best critics, so if they can
assess problems themselves then it makes your job a lot easier. Usually
they’ll ask if they can do another take or correct a line in the song.
If a singer is constantly not delivering a good performance then don’t
keep them in the booth until they get it right. Give them a short 10 -
15 minute break. This can work wonders. Remember, the best tool in
having your singer give the best performance is confidence. Make them
comfortable and let them adjust without telling them constantly what
they’re doing wrong. <br />
Spoiling them with green tea and honey can also help to
make them more comfortable. A singer needs lots of fluids to keep their
mouth and throat moist so avoid alcohol which will just dehydrate
them. Water is the best drink. <br />
<div class="header1">
<strong>Mixing & Processing Vocals:</strong> </div>
Once everything is recorded and you've compiled your
favorite takes to create the master and cleaned up any unwanted noise
and breath effects in the gaps, you can use a variety of processing and
mixing effects to touch up the vocals to get the final polished sound.
<br />
<div class="header1">
<strong>EQ </strong></div>
When it comes to EQ there’s nothing set in stone. Although
following the list below will help you start to clean up the sound:
<br />
<ul>
<li>
Removing some of the 150-450Hz range will remove some low-mid range boxiness.</li>
<li>
Boosting Frequencies around 8 kHz + can add a nice airy
tone, and crisp effect to the sound. However, watch out for the ‘S’s
and ‘T’s as any brightening will inevitably boost these. </li>
<li>When using EQ make sure to boost and cut as little as
you can get away with. Drastically changing the sound with EQ will give
an un-natural sound to the performance. </li>
</ul>
<div class="header1">
<strong>Compression</strong></div>
This is my favourite part of processing vocals. A
compressor works in 2 ways. Firstly the main purpose of a compressor is
to even out the peaks and dips in the recording. By squeezing the
volume of the recording a compressor will make the loudest parts of a
recording sound closer in volume to the quietist parts. This gives a
smooth, even volume and is kind on your ears. <br />
The second and more important aspect of compression is the
musical energy that it gives to a recording. When used correctly
compression adds an immediate pressure and energy to very dynamic
recordings that can really bring a vocal take to life. Listen to a
radio DJ and you’ll be able to hear the compression pumping away to
keep the volume of the voice on an even level. Radio compression is
excessive so as to protect peoples hi-fi speakers so I’m not suggesting
you use such drastic settings but experiment and you’ll soon discover
that compression is the most important tool in processing of vocal
recordings. <br />
Aiming for about 6-9dB of gain reduction, using a ratio of
between 2:1 and 7:1 on the loudest parts in the track should give you a
good starting point. Make sure when setting the attack and release
time you get an even sounding reduction. It’s important not to get that
‘breathing’ effect. You don’t want to hear the compressor working, you
just want the vocals to sound even. <br />
<div class="header1">
Reverb</div>
Reverb is really all about personal taste. While some
engineers and singers use the smallest amount possible, others will use
as much as they can get away with. A plate emulation is usually the
common setting used when mixing urban vocals. Plate emulations are good
and often serve to settle the vocal into the mix. Try these settings
on your vocal sound. <br />
<ul>
<li>
Plate Reverb</li>
<li>
2.3 Seconds Length</li>
<li>
High pass Filter</li>
<li>
0.24 Seconds Attack Time</li>
<li>
2.10 Seconds Decay Time</li>
<li>
6 ms Pre-Delay</li>
<li>
-44dB Reverb Volume</li>
<li>
2.4dB Wet Reverb </li>
</ul>
<div class="header1">
Double Tracking</div>
To create that thick wall of sound vocal effect that just
sounds huge you're going to want to double or triple track your vocals.
By this we mean record an extra take onto a new audio track and play it
alongside the original. This often smooth's out any pitch imperfections
and adds a 'chorusing' type of effect to the voice. The differences in
the two different takes combine to make a lush, dense sound that you'll
already be familiar with.<br />
If you decide to double track the vocals. We would
recommend doing it for real. Trying to fake a double tracking effect
will usually give poor results and make your hard earned vocal
recording sound amateur. Although if you must fake the double tracking
then follow these tips. Double Tracking your vocals using pitch
variations and not aligning the audio files up perfectly can give great
results. Copying your vocal take to another track, (you can even do
this more than once, known as ‘vocal stacking’) and using a plug in
such as auto tune, or Melodyne you can introduce slight pitch changes
in the copied vocal. Also adding a delay of 50 - 120 ms to the copied
vocals can also fake the ‘2nd part’ vocals well. <br />
<div class="header1">
<strong>De-essing </strong> </div>
De-essers can be used either at the mixing stage or
recordings stage. If your singer has a particularly sibilant voice you
are going to have problems. My advice is to get the singer to back
away from the mic so that there is a 10 inch space between the singer
and the pop shield. Also ensure that the singer is off-axis (not
pointing directly) from the mic diaphragm. <br />
The downside to this is that the recording will loose some
of its warmer bottom end and the proximity effect will be gone. The
upside is that you’ll be able to record a clean usable vocal with only
mild de-essing required at mix stage. <br />
<div class="blackbold11">
So, what is a De-esser? </div>
A De-esser is a tool that engineers can use to take out
the very pronounced and harsh ‘S’ and ‘T’ sounds that some singers can
produce. If the problem is really affecting the recording then you will
have to use electronic ways of reducing just the sibilant peaks. Think
of a De-Esser as a compressor that only works on the ‘S’ and ‘T’
sounds. Anything in the 3-6 khz range to be specific. With a de-esser,
make sure to use light settings when possible, otherwise you may find
your singer has a slight lisp to their recording. If your going to use a
De-esser, we recommend spending money on one that really pinpoints the
correct frequency range so the rest of the recording is left
unchanged! <br />
There are many hardware and software signal processors and
mastering tools that have De-esser presets but in my experience you’ll
need to do some tweaking to hone in on the problem frequencies that
need to be compressed. Record the vocal correctly with the right room
treatment and you’ll only need very subtle de-essing if any. <br />
Make sure you plan the recording process, take your time
with the singer and mixing stage and have fun. Experiment with
different techniques and find what works best for you and the singer
you’re working with. By reading this article you’ve taken your first
step to achieving the industry professional vocal sound you’ve been
looking for. Good luck!<br />

<br />
<h1 align="center" class="entry-title">
7 Cara Jadi MUSISI HEBAT</h1>
SEBENARNYA,
Mendengar, Mendengar & Mendengar Musik</strong><br />
In Melatih kepekaan telinga terhadap musik. Hal ini harus kita latih
terus menerus dibanding sekadar bermain musik tanpa juntrungan yang
jelas.

tips-tipsnya:<br />
<div class="postentry" style="background-color: white;">
<div class="snap_preview">
<br />
<div style="color: #e06666;">
<b>1. Harus mempunyai tujuan</b></div>
<div>
Memiliki
musik persaingan sangatlah keras. Kebanyakan label rekaman, manager,
<div>
Banyak
<div style="color: #e06666;">
<b><br />3. Proses</b></div>
<div>
“Proses”
dihasilkan ataupun membuat penggemar semakin mencintai musik kita.
bersaing.</div>
<div>
Dalam dunia musik jika hanya
menunggu untuk ditemukan. Kesuksesan tidak mungkin terjadi apabila kita
hanya berdiam diri saja. Mereka berkata “saya sedang menunggu sukses!”.
Kesuksesan dapat kita raih bukan ditunggu. Jadi tidak ada lagi
kata-kata menunggu dalam dunia musik. Jadi tunggu apa lagi, Do-it-now!
Demand discovery, never wait for it!</div>
<div style="color: #e06666;">
<b><br />4.Perkenalkan Band kamu kepada siapapun.</b></div>
<div>
Banyak
<div>
PRESS KIT/PROMO PACK</div>
<div>
-
Sebuah demo kaset/CD yang berisikan 3-5 lagu TERBAIK band kamu. (
Kualitas musik disini sangat berpengaruh) Biografi artis. (Informasi
<div>
- Daftar lagu (song list).
<div>
- Lirik-lirik lagu.
<div>
- Foto artis (foto-foto seputar kegiatan band, personil band, dll)</div>
<div>
<div>
<div style="color: #e06666;">
<b>MEDIA INTERNET</b></div>
<div>
Sebagian
<div style="color: #e06666;">
<b>MAILING LIST</b></div>
<div>
Salah
<div style="color: #e06666;">
<b>MEDIA</b></div>
<div>
Pemanfaatan
<div style="color: #e06666;">
<b><br />5.
<div>
Manajer
kemudian terjadi justru sang teman tadi cenderung menjadi seorang
profesional. Apabila teman-teman kamu ingin membantu band kamu, mereka
memasangi alat-alat band kamu).
<div style="color: #e06666;">
<b><br />6. Kegigihan</b></div>
<div>
Kegigihan,
band kamu..</div>
<div style="color: #e06666;">
<b>7. Tahu apa yang harus dilakukan</b></div>
<div>
<div>
-”Latihan” dengan sungguh-sungguh dan banyak mendengarkan lagu-lagu, agar kualitas musik kamu bertambah baik.</div>
<div>
-Cari
tahu tentang berbagai pengetahuan tentang bisnis musik! Jangan
sekali-sekali beranggapan kalau kamu mengerti semuanya, cari tahu! Jika
kamu berfikir akan tahu dengan sendirinya nanti. Kamu benar, memang
<div style="color: #e06666;">
<b><br />8. Serius dalam bermusik</b></div>
<div>
Jika
kamu hanya menganggap bermain musik hanya sekedar hobby kamu saja maka
<div style="color: #e06666;">
<b><br />9. Komitmen</b></div>
<div>
Komitmen
membuat kamu menjadi menyerah. Dalam hal ini yang penting adalah masa
depan bukan masa lalu.
musik.</div>
<div style="color: #e06666;">
<b><br />10. Maksimal</b></div>
<div>
Maksimal
adalah kunci dari kesuksesan sebuah band. Kalau kamu ingin menjadi
<div>
Dari kesepuluh tips
diatas memang mudah untuk dipahami, namun terkadang terasa sulit
ketika dijalani.

<div>
<div>
<hr />
</div>
<div>
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791) adalah salah satu komponis
musik klasik terbesar di dunia. Ia mulai menulis musik dan memainkan
kibor serta biola sejak umur lima tahun. Mozart telah menulis lebih dari
600 lagu. Banyak orang merasa sangat senang jika mendengarkan musik
Mozart di balai konser atau iPod. Akan tetapi perasaan luar biasa
tersebut bukanlah efek Mozart.</div>
<div>
<img alt="" height="171px;" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/cIAvBUoMOib_GVtaCkRTojwC0r5BJ8vM1jJXHKDTP0WKD-LFCfdNlgWK7Y066lcus7P4_4NnwGZ5W3Jlvfl95FHidMGmcVD5c4nPYXxbsS5bE0ECy5U" width="294px;" /></div>
<div>
<div>
<span id="more-256"></span></div>
<div>
membeli lagu Mozart.</div>
<div>
<div>
nyeri. Pada Mei 1999, National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences
Foundation membagikan CD gratis kepada ratusan rumah sakit. Hadiah
cerdas. Sayangnya, sains tidak mendukung keinginan mereka.</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Bahkan hewan seperti sapi
dan tanaman juga menyukai musikny.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: blue;"><span style="font-size: 14px;"><b>Intelijensi</b></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
seperti musik Mozart.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
(duo piano) K. 448 karya Mozart selama 10 menit, mereka berhasil
Stanford-Binet dibandingkan setelah mereka mendengarkan instruksi
relaksasi atau tidak mendengarkan apa-apa. Kegiatan ini hanya
berlangsung 10-15 menit.”</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: blue;"><span style="font-size: 14px;"><b>Produksi Susu</b></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Menurut pemilik
Hans-Pieter Sieber, ini adalah berkat Concerto for Flute and Harp in D
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: blue;"><span style="font-size: 14px;"><b>Kesehatan Bayi Prematur</b></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
(Resting Energy Expenditure - REE).<br />
“Paparan musik Mozart secara signifikan menurunkan REE pada bayi
prematur yang sehat. Kami berspekulasi bahwa efek musik terhadap REE
mungkin menjelaskan peningkatan berat badan sebagai hasil dari efek
Mozart,” menurut kesimpulan para peneliti dalam makalah mereka.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: blue;"><span style="font-size: 14px;"><b>Pembuangan Limbah</b></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Mundus. Musik karya Mozart The Flute Enchanted itu diperdengarkan bagi
mikroba pemakan limbah.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Awalnya, pabrik hampir membatalkan percobaan setelah beberapa bulan.
Namun setelah setahun, ketika tiba saatnya untuk membersihkan lumpur,
pabrik mendapati bahwa mereka hanya mengangkut 6.000 meter kubik lumpur,
bukan 7.000 meter kubik seperti yang biasa mereka lakukan.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Perusahaan diperkirakan mampu menghemat hingga 10.000 euro (sekitar 115
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: blue;"><span style="font-size: 14px;"><b>Pertumbuhan Tanaman</b></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
tanaman sejak 1970-an. Beberapa jenis musik mereka gemari, dan beberapa
musik lainnya justru membuat mereka mati. Sedangkan musik Mozart
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Sedangkan
di ruang lain, radio memperdengarkan music easy listening selama tiga
jam sehari.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
mereka mati setelah 16 hari.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Retallack melanjutkan eksperimen dengan berbagai jenis musik. Tanaman
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: blue;"><span style="font-size: 14px;"><b>Kebun Anggur</b></span></span></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: blue;"><span style="font-size: 14px;"><b>Tikus di Labirin</b></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
diperdengarkan musik lain.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Perbedaannya semakin meningkat setelah 5 hari.
</div>
